5.0 out of 5 stars One Of The Greatest Of All Time, April 13, 2008

Lego Star Wars was introduced a few years ago as a kid's game (12 and under). I discovered it through my friend's son, who was a 5 year-old Star Wars fan. At one point, he needed help with an area and asked me to guide him. So I took the controller and tried my best. After about a half hour, he asked if he could play again, but I told him that I was still "trying to figure out how to play this game." (In actuality, it was an instant addiction.)

What I learned about Lego Star Wars is that the two-player function is awesome, but only if you are already friends with your counterpart and/or they are a skilled gamer. If not, you will find yourself directing their every action (to help move the game along), and they might take exception to that.

Anyway, if I may now review this particular rendition, Lego Star Wars: Complete Saga...

The game is awesome. I put it on par with the classics (Legend of Zelda, the Super Mario games, Sonic the Hedgehog,... Read more

When I read an earlier review that said the game didn't use the Wii remote as a lightsaber I was disappointed and decided not to buy the game. However, we rented it a couple days ago and I was both surprised and very happy to find that you can swing the Wii remote and the characters on screen swing their lightsabers. You can also control the lightsaber by pressing the "B" button, which sometimes is easier.

In a way I'm happy you don't have to try and aim the Wii remote to shoot the blasters because I find pointing the Wii remote at an object on the screen to be the most challenging aspect of using the Wii remote.

Overall, this is a very fun game that I can play with my son, and even though we already have earlier versions of all episodes, I'm considering buying this one for the Wii after we return the rental one.

May the Force be with you!

If you haven't played the original Star Wars LEGOs series (based on the Episodes I-III and IV-VI.) YOU WILL LOVE IT! Whether you just love LEGOs, Star Wars or if you're a fan of both, it is sheer fun!. The settings are either terrific cartoon replicas of the lego sets or the movie ones. The sound and music FX is spot on and the story links are consistently funny tributes to both franchises. I find the animators' ability to retell Lucas' stories without ANY dialogue from ANY characters, remarkable. The game contains multiple chapters and subchapters easily breaking the movies into neat saving checkpoints, collecting LEGO studs for purchasing characters, extra features and special abilities. The replay options are large thanks to "Story Play" modes which unlock the chapters for later "Free Play" modes in which you can return to the adventures as the characters of your choosing or making with the "mix-n-matcher" in the Cantina.

If you have played the original Star Wars LEGO... Read more

The God of War Saga Now for the PS3
The God of War series, made up of God of War and God of War II, featuring the brutal yet tortured anti-hero Kratos, engrossing storylines based in Greek mythology, over-the-top addictive action and puzzle-solving gameplay and simple controls is often referred to as one of the best, and/or most popular single player action games series ever made for PlayStation 2. The truth in this can be seen in the fact that in an era dominated by more advanced game consoles, fans of the franchise who have held on to their PS2's still revisit these two games from time to time, while gamers who missed their initial releases are tempted to give them a try, even though they have moved on to a PS3. Regardless which side of this you find yourself on the God of War Collection holds something for you. Released in advance of the highly anticipated God of War III, the first game in the series developed for the PS3 platform and rumored to also be the last overall, this collection allows players to properly prepare themselves for the final chapter in the adventures of Kratos, entirely through their PS3.

The Games

God of War
Unleash the power of the gods and embark on a merciless quest as Kratos, an ex-Spartan warrior driven to destroy Ares, the God of War. Armed with the lethal double chainblades known as the Blades of Chaos, Kratos must carve through mythology’s darkest creatures — including Medusa, Cyclops, the Hydra and more, while solving intricate puzzles in breathtaking environments. Driven by pure revenge, nothing can stop Kratos from achieving absolution. Over time, Kratos becomes the most vicious warrior in Ancient Greece and bathed in blood to a point where he can't bare it anymore and sets out on a journey to kill Ares. However, the only way to destroy Ares is to find Pandora's Box, which is located in a temple that's perched upon a hill and guarded by traps, puzzles, enemies, etc. The story is told as a flashback of three weeks prior to where the opening movie cutscene starts and then sets the stage for the game.

God of War II
God of War saw Kratos, a mortal warrior, set upon an epic quest to dethrone a god. But his journey did not end there. In God of War II, Kratos, the once mortal warrior turned ruthless god, sits atop his throne on Olympus, and is a threat far worse than his predecessor Ares had ever been, striking down anyone who crosses his path, or the path of his beloved Sparta. Filled with power and rage, the "Ghost of Sparta" sets out to alter that which no mortal or god has ever changed — his fate. Facing mythical characters, all bent on preventing him from reaching his goal, Kratos' journey brings him to the very edge of the Earth. But this is Kratos, and his defiance is filled with such arrogance and contempt that all of the ancient world still trembles at his name: Kratos, The God of War.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best PS2 Game Ever Comes to the PS3, November 18, 2009

When I converted from XBox to Playstation a few years back, God of War was one of the first games I bought that was exclusive to the PS2. I've always loved Greek mythology, so I suppose that may be part of the reason why I quickly fell in love with the tragic story of Kratos. After finishing GoW1, I eagerly awaited the release of God of War 2. It was truly amazing that the PS2 was capable of producing such beautiful graphics. The story was even better than the original, and it left me hanging for part three in this wonderful franchise.

I've been patiently waiting for God of War 3 to hit the shelves, so I was quite surprised when I found out that the original two titles in the series were being remastered in high-definition for play on the PS3. I got my copy home, opened it, and loaded it onto my PS3. I'll just tell you right now that ALL of the content from the first two games is on one Blu-ray disc, including all of the extra features from disc 2 of GoW2... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Kratos Like You've Never Seen Him Before........In High Def, November 19, 2009

I loved the God of War series and have always thought that the franchise is a major staple in the history of gaming and may single handily define Sony and their consoles. The fairly new anti-hero has established himself as a greatly unique character in the video game world. With his painfully deep back-story, to his constant deception by the gods of Olympus, Kratos is a character that fans can truly appreciate. Within the few years Kratos has existed, he has truly become something remarkable. From the PS2 to the PSP, Kratos has always been one of the most interesting lead characters in a game franchise. However, several years into the PS3 life cycle, Kratos has been absent from the new hardware. Sony has revitalized God of War with this collection so that even those who have purchased newer, non-backwards compatible PlayStation 3 hardware may be able to revisit the games that helped set a new standard for action games.

God of War Collection is just that, a... Read more

I have never played the GOW series on ps2, and now I am living the hype that i heard about on ps2 year ago. This game is addicting and alot of fun! It has gore, blood, and some other MATURE items you should look into before getting it for a kid. The remastering makes it look great and the sound is wonderful. I have played just a few hours and can't put the controller down. It also comes with a demo code for GOW 3 as well! Great package, and the only real knock i can give so far is the cut scenes are playstation 2 graphics, but it still looks good! I have been spoiled by HD Gaming and this game will not dissapoint! Must own for fans of the games and for new fans to come!
